Beta

Image
After many weeks of rechursch, testing and looking back on past tutorials as well as the help of my lecturer Shaun Ferns I have managed to create a playable game for my beta. It was hard at first as I came upon a few problems with the manics such as infinite jumping  and in the last week I had to completely change how I controlled my player as they where in reverse, left was right, up was down, as well as make my player a simple shape instead of a person but I have put a lot of work into this game and I am hopeful that it is enough for me to pass as this is the first game I have made. I have tested it and have found no new problems or bugs in the game. I have met all my task for this game. 1. I have created the environment 2. created the player  3 created the mechanics to control the player and make them jump 4 added some animation to my button  5 given the game music  to make it more interesting to play

Unity Tutorial 10

In my game I decided to add a bit of animation to my button so I looked up different videos on how to create and add simple animation to some of my objects. It is thanks to these videos that I relisted how easy it was to create my own simple animations by simply clicking the record icon and move the object around and then it will do so in game. But it would repeat as a loop  lucky there is a switch that could turn off the looping. The next obstacle was finding a way to trigger the animation that I made when my player got close to it, luckily I found another video that showed my to just that with a c#script and the objects box collider. In the tutorial it had the object animation become triggered when you stood on a certain parts of the floor but it was easy to add the trigger to the object instead. Theses  tutorials where vary helpful when I was making my game and they will be hand if I ever decide to make another game in the future that need simple animation. https://www.youtube.com/w

Games Testing

Testing Techniques an ecental part of game design is testing to see if the game works how you wish it to and to find any bugs or glitches before it is relisted as that can cause complaints from the customers. There are may different ways to test a game the seven that I know of are as fallow. Functionality Testing : this is  done to confirm whether the end product works following the specifications. Functionality QA testers mainly hunt for the generic problems within the game or its graphics & user interface, such as game asset integrity, stability issues, audio-visual issues, and game mechanic issues Combinatorial Testing :  this way you can effortlessly test the game rapidly in its earliest stages. Initially, the initial step is to discover how much testing your game necessitates. For this reason, you can use this particular type of testing to determine whether the game satisfies the definite requirements or functions bug-free. Ad Hoc Testing : This technique is referred as ‘’g

Unity Tutorial 09

This Tutorial was extremely helpful in that it taught me how to incorporate the mouse into a game which will be vary helpful should I ever make a game simpler to games such as "fruit ninja" in the future. It has a lot of mechanics form past tutorials such as the spawn manger from tutorial 3, another thing simpler to past tutorials is causing the spawned object to move in a certain direction however unlike before where it was forward or sideways this one showed me how to make my objects "jump" upward.  Another important thing this tutorial has taught me is how to give a game a score display using the UI or user interface, how to give certain objects points and what a canvas is, which if I have time will try and incorporate into my own game when I get the chance. I also learned some new things about C#script and this tutorial finally showed me how to make a large game over sign appear on the screen when the player losses. In short this tutorial used a lot of the mecha

Twitter Task 12

Twitter Task 12 My game is about a lab assistant that has bean shrunk down to the size of a mouse and has to get to the shrink ray switch to get back to normal size. I was inspired by games like "I AM FISH" and films like "honey I shrunk the kids" #demd2023 — Bernard MacDonagh (@BernardMacDon14) December 3, 2020
